We used our smart searching skills to find facts about the Swamp Tiger. Once we had found the information we needed we made notes in our own words. We used the notes to help us write our information reports. Information reports tell readers about a chosen topic.
The Bengal Swamp Tiger are muscular beasts originating from the Border of India and Bangladesh, also known as Panthera Tigris Tigris, Not many people know that these beasts are nocturnal hunters making them more threatening. This specific Tiger population is decreasing because of city ground increasing, leaving 100 – 150 living to this day.
Swamp tigers have a strong body that sports their orange and black coloring. These colorings make the Bengal Swap Tiger look fierce and feisty. Yet with their bright appearance they stay camouflaged and hidden leaving only their piercing eyes left to see. These beasts are 8.3 – 10.5 feet in height and 180 kgs.
These carnivorous (Meat Only) beasts prey on many animals, even humans using their sharp fangs. Swamp Tigers Diet consists of Deers, Boars, Buffalos, Wild Cats, Monkey Crabs, And fish. On some occasions these huge beasts eat People. The Mangroves food source is scarce causing such a unique diet.
The Swamp Tiger lives in a mangrove forest that feels like one of the tropical islands. These fierce animals like to live in humid climates and even like water which is unusual for a cat. There liking of water could lead to why they have crustaceans (crabs and lobsters) and fish in their diet.
Bengal Swamp Tigers are solitary animals which means they prefer being alone. This wild cat marks its territory. The fierce and silent nature of the Swamp tiger helps it when hunting. Not Many people know that these malicious water lovers have changed and adapted to eat and hunt sea animals.
The Swamp Tiger is a wonderful and unique creature with extraordinary adapting skills with many challenges like lack of food and the ability to swim. But by the cause of our city grounds expansion and need for land it has caused them to be pushed to the brink of extinction.
