Art Class Masks

The tech art class has made masks, these masks were made with paper machet. We started these asks on a balloon roughly sizing our heads onto the balloons with vivid, next we used pva glue to stick tiny peices of paper on we layered the paper three times to make sure it was strong. We then stuck eyes to our mask with glue and tape we painted and added other stuff like buttons and pipe cleaners to them. We lastly put holes in them for the 2 strings to be tied too. My Mask was based off a bunny that has been transormed in half to be a very creepy creature I made this for Halloween.

Samoan Language Week Art

LI: To make and learn about Samoan tautau

For this Samoan language week LS2 has made Samoan tautau patterns, some of these were hand patterns and others being other beautiful art forms. The tautau patterns shown were all thought out to represent something like protection or strong bonds. The meaning behind our pattern is that each design is like a rope that represents connections to others that connects to the core representing us and our hearts and minds.

I enjoyed this task because I found it interesting to make such patterns and seeing others meanings behind there’s.

8 Sided Star Designs

LI: to make Star Designs to celebrate Matariki.

Ls2 has made a Matariki star design these star designs have stories and meanings about them, my star design consists of a hammer head shark to represent the Tamaki River and Harakeke to show the good harvest and Mt Maungarei.

I found this task to be very creative because of the thought gone into others designs.

Name Art

LS2 has made taniwha names, these names were inspired by the Google drawing above. We sketched a drawing of our names combined with a taniwha on paper and after we were finished with our original design we copied it digitaly and some of us making huge improvements.

I found this activity difficult because it was difficult to get the right design.

Whale Tails

I learned how to make a whale tail.

First I learned how to make a whale tail not to literal. I did this by making shapes, colours, and diffrent types of explanations for what i done.

Next I learned how to make my whale tail a little bit 3D and more life like on a printed out blank whale tail. I did this by adding gradients, shadows and diffrent colours.

Lastly I learned how to make shapes, colour blends, and how to make a make changes in my design. I drawed the shapes and objects first and after that I coloured it in dark blue and a little bit of light blue and black triangles and circles.

I enjoyed colouring in my whale tail. I need to improve on colouring in the shape more. I did well designing my whale tail.
